"I was at risk of homelesness because of the overcrowding in my mam's- there's my sister and the baby in one room, my sister who's going through depression in the other and my mam in the other room.. so we stay on the sofas. They told us there's nothing out there for couples. The only thing out there for couples are the priority people."
Lyndsey tells her story of the homeless system in Dublin.
We need your help identifying these individuals.
We have pinpointed a security firm in Ratoath Co Meath as been the aggressors.
We will post more photos and information once confirmed.
Please pm us with any information you may have and please share.
These people have to be confronted for once and for all.
Help needed in Clonlara so please attend in large numbers.
You read that correctly.
The average family will pay the equivalent of 18 years out of a 33 year mortgage for non-construction costs!
Our analysis is based upon the latest home construction costings by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland published in May 2016 for a 3-Bed semi-detached house in Dublin, combined with a typical 33 year mortgage.

Last week we released a short introduction video to the freephone system in homeless accommodation.
This week we hear from 3 women on their experiences of the freephone and how they became homeless, the cruelty of the system, the lies people are told in the system, and it affect on the health of people reliant on it due to the housing crisis.
They also had managed to seduce some local businesses / Estate Agents from Donegal into their activity. The temptation of a few pieces of silver was just too irressistible for them. Find out who they are later.
In their armour too was also our gardai. They fell for the scam hook, line and sinker. In fact our gardai, your gardai, yes all 13, 14 or 15 of them that attended on a quiet Thursday morning in 4 or 5 patrol cars excluding undercover and private cars that brought them to Ramelton, gave them an escort out of Ramelton after their break in to private property. Dare the owner of this property wish to report this crime, he was invited by a garda / sergeant to go to the gardai station and make a complaint!!! Was it a complaint against the gardai or a complaint against criminals from NI breaking into his property that the gardai / sergeant wanted him to make??
On a previous occassion when the same owner of private property reported by telephone, that criminals were breaking into other property of his, the response from the garda station was, "Did he owe the banks any money!!!!!!!
Yes this really happened in Ireland, in Donegal.
They need people to support them in their action tomorrow morning at 8am at the hostel in Johns Lane, Dublin 8. Close to Thomas Street.
Using a disposable camera, each photo has been taken by someone who has recently or who is currently coping with homelessness, capturing an ‘insight’ into their experiences.
Erica Fleming @ the Dail today, talking about the shameful homeless situation, well done Erica.

The recent figures which show that 884 families are in emergency accommodation, including 1,830 children across the country is shocking and unacceptable. The housing crisis now affects a broad range of people from the most vulnerable children and families in emergency accommodation, to those struggling with escalating rents, the tens of thousands stuck in mortgage arrears, young people unable to buy an affordable home, and the issue facing people living in the tens of thousands of distressed properties that vulture funds have bought. There is a need for whatever new government is formed to make the housing crisis an immediate priority by declaring it a National Emergency and setting up a new Housing and Homes Agency with direct responsibility to provide sufficient affordable and social housing to address the crisis. There simply has not been sufficient funding provided from central government to local authorities to build social housing. In order to address the crisis there is a need for a clear prioritisation of the right to a home within housing policy. If elected I will campaign in the Seanad for a right to housing. I am proposing that a National Housing & Affordable Homes Agency is formed and given sufficient funding to build housing on the scale that is required, to implement better tenant protections and rent regulation to stop escalating unaffordable rents.

The curragh homes being knocked down
Posted by Patrick Canning on Sunday, 24 January 2016
December saw the first attempt to eviction through Garda intimidation but they backed off when they realised residents knew the law and were not going to be scared into leaving. They returned Monday with the alleged owner but with no legal paperwork (i.e. a court eviction order) and started demolishing the back wall. Then they came to the front and started smashing in the door and windows with a sledgehammer.
There was someone behind the door who was put at risk as the sledgehammer smashed through the door. The Garda present did not quote any criminal law and had no interest in the fact the alleged owner did not have any court order for eviction. Their main role on the day was pushing people away as the security smashed the door in.
Once they had gained access they started demolishing the interior of the house and smashed out upstairs windows, in effect making the house uninhabitable and exposing it to the elements.

Castlebar court 13/01/16. An armed Garda walking around the court with a video camera while his colleagues tried to seize my camera. They then turned there attention to a young lady sitting at the back and demanded her property. Fair play to her, she said no. It didn't stop them seizing a phone (4th time I think) from one of our group. Seize is the wrong word, STOLE is probably more apt a description.
