Who are the Co-archivists?
A People’s Archive of The Irish Housing Crisis specifically uses the term co-archivist for people who wish to contribute. The term co-archivist refers to persons or people in the broadest sense.
A People’s Archive of The Irish Housing Crisis welcomes and encourages contributions to the archival material from any self-defined Irish resident or group who have experienced, or otherwise have been directly or indirectly, impacted by the housing crisis in Ireland. This includes, but is not limited to, homeless people, sublet tenants, mortgage holders, private sector renters, the hidden homeless people like those who are couch surfing, social housing tenants, people in direct provision, family members and friends, concerned citizens and citizen groups.
Everyone, as an individual or as a group, is invited to contribute material to this archive and will be thus become a co-archivist of this People’s Archive of The Irish Housing Crisis. A People’s Archive of The Irish Housing Crisis specifically uses the term "people" quite broadly. This is intended to encourage contributions to the archive from any self-defined person, resident or community in Ireland who has experienced or is experiencing, either directly or indirectly, an issue around their housing situation. The archival material has been predominantly collected from social media or has been offered to the archive directly.
The archive strives to portray the narratives of people themselves and is not aligned to any political party or organisation, but it is recognised that many co-archivers do have political party affiliations.
